What is an impact socket?
An impact socket is a socket made of hardened, tough steel designed for impact wrenches – pneumatic, electric or battery-powered. The walls are thicker than on standard sockets, so it withstands high torque and shock. Never use standard sockets in impact tools – they can crack.
Which square drive do I need?
The square drive (1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/2" or 2-1/2") must match your tool. A larger drive means higher torque. The size of the socket itself (mm or inches) must fit the bolt head or nut.
